Martina Jimenez started her business career early, forming numerous business ventures with neighborhood children in her native Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. With a strong knack for business and leadership skills, Martina naturally led these ventures, serving as CEO or President. Her instincts for business and leadership were also groomed by a generation of strong and intelligent women who insisted she never stepped aside or behind anyone – and she’s still going strong but work as a strong team player. Moving to Virginia as a young girl, learning a new language and fascinated with a different culture, Martina adapted quickly while becoming an excellent student, but never forgetting her roots.
With over 16 year experience in the financial industry, Ms. Jimenez is the Market Management Field Director with New York Life Insurance Company in the African American Market Unit. She was a Financial Adviser with Eagle Strategies, LLC, a subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company. Martina recently retired her portfolio of clients that she served when she owned her practice in Atlanta for 10 years. Prior to Eagle Strategies, LLC, Martina worked as a Private Banker for Bank of America and worked a few years in the mortgage industry. She attended the University of Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama.
As a Market Management Field Director, Martina provides New York Life Financial Services Representatives a vast range of personalized services including coaching in wealth management, education planning, retirement and business planning, estate preservation, family wealth transfers and charitable giving. Martina provides custom tailored strategies for advisors nationally, understanding the unique needs that require her financial expertise. Helping her advisors with practice management and community involvement is more than a goal, it is her commitment. With a relentless work ethic, Martina’s dedication to her target market is well known in the industry and valued by her impressive clientele. Martina was recently honored with the Entrepreneur of the Year award from HABLA 2011 by the Lanza Group and is member of the Leadership Atlanta Class 2013.
Aside from her vast financial knowledge, she is a strong, unrelenting advocate for the underprivileged. Martina believes that service is the price we pay for our existence and gives generously of her time to many local and national organizations, including serving on the boards of Georgia Center for Child Advocacy and the Atlanta Technical College Advisory Board. She is the Past President of Women in Insurance and Financial Services Georgia Chapter for 2010. A life long Catholic, she is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Given her roots in the Caribbean, Martina is an avid traveler, photographer and food connoisseur. However, Martina truly understands that in order to indulge her hobbies one must understand the importance of budgeting and planning for these joys.
